Mon IMPORTANT FIRST DAY ACTIVITIES:

1. Listen to: introductory audio message

2. Logon to BlackBoard and complete the ** MANDATORY FIRST-DAY CLASS ORIENTATION ** due by 11:59 pm Monday June 30th
    For more detailed steps including a brief overview of the class requirements, see Class Orientation Information.

    IMPORTANT DEADLINE:
    You must logon to Blackboard and complete the "mandatory first-day class orientation" by this deadline.
    Failure to do so may result in your being withdrawn from the class or replaced by a waitlisted student.

3. Satisfy today's first-week attendance requirement by posting one message to one of the discussion boards.
    E.g., post a quick "Hi" to the "checking-in" thread on the "main classroom" discussion board in BlackBoard.

*** Note: Be sure to be visible in class EVERY DAY this first week per "Clark's first week 'no-show' attendance policy". ***
Failure to post at least one message to one of the BB discussion boards on each day this first week may result in your being withdrawn from class!

4. Purchase (if necessary) and register in MyMathLab. See syllabus - course materials for MyMathLab Course ID Code and further details.

5. Purchase The Universe and the Teacup (see syllabus - course materials for further details).
   The Universe and the Teacup (from now on known as "the Teacup book") assignment:
   Begin reading the introduction and chapters I,1,2. The first book club discussion question (BCDQ 2) due on Monday of week two
   will cover these sections. Note that we may not read this book in order, so watch this calendar for weekly assigned reading.

Topic: Finance - The Time Value of Money

MyMathLab activities: SECTION 14.1
   Read the online multimedia textbook. View any video's and do the you try its.
   (Specific directions are available in MyMathLab on the "announcements" page of the course.)
   Work at least every other problem in the tracked tutorial exercises.

Quiz Rules: The quiz will be made available by noon Tuesday and is due by noon Thursday. Once you click on the quiz you will have 60 minutes to complete it and you may only take it once. Do not navigate away from the quiz in the middle or you won't be able to return to complete it!  You may use notes, online text, calculator, etc., but you may not discuss the quiz with any human until after the due date/time. After the due date/time you will be able to review and print your quiz including your answers and the correct answers. See "announcements" in MyMathLab for more information.
