ESL Quarter Overview: Important Dates/Paperwork
(As of September 2004)Please use this a guide—As we all know, there is only one constant in ESL: change!
Be sure to read all e-mails/memos to get specific quarter information.
Weeks 1 & 2
All drops need to be completed (see example).
Contact Sakeal Kravanh (992-2736) if you need more students.
You should have at least 15; preferably close to 24.
Do initial goal-setting with your students.
Weeks 1-7:
Students may register for computer lab during the first 7 weeks of the quarter.
Students may change from one level class to another. A drop/add form needs to be
completed (see example). Be sure to check with other teachers before moving students into their class.
Week 2
ESL registration closes on the 10th day of the quarter.
CASAS Pre-Testing: Level 1 students test in-class with their teacher. Levels 2-6
test outside of class & must come to TPC at a specific time to take the test. All new students to the program must pre-test.
Week 9

CASAS Post-Testing: This is done in class.Weeks 10 & 11
Turn in goal sheets & assessments, registrations, WABERS & attendance.
Attendance: Write down a number (1,2,3) for the number of hours the student attended for each class period.
WABERS: Put total attendance hours.
Instructor Briefcase: Use the grades "S" for Satisfactory (Students completed the level) & "U" for Unsatisfactory (Students will remain in the level).
Registration: Check with other teachers before moving your students to their
classes. Students must fill out WABERS when registering for Summer Quarter because Summer is the start of the new academic year.
Turn in your EL-Civics Reporting/Tracking form to Sara Gallow.
Check with the lead teacher for your level about program assessments & goal sheets!
