Eye Color Genetics Go into the eye color section. Select the How Is Eye Color Determined box and play around with the possibilities.
On the upcoming exam, I will cull the essay question from this list of topics (Students, please remind me to build this list as we proceed through the next chapters):
o What are the evolutionary benefits of having dark skin in equatorial regions and having lighter skin farther north?
o Why won’t coffee or a cold shower cause a person to sober up?
o Explain what parts of your nervous system are operating when you feel something on your leg, decide it’s a cat then decide to pet it.
o Explain how cocaine impacts your nervous system.
o Explain the development of cancer from a mutation to the point where there is a small tumor.
o Explain why a boy is more likely to be colorblind than is a girl.
o I got my chromosomes from my mom and my dad. Yet a microscopic view may reveal that some of my chromosomes look very much like those of my mom’s mom, Eleanor. Explain.
o I have 16 cousins in my family. My aunts and uncles are all brown-haired. But four of my cousins are red-headed. Is this reasonable or bizarre? In this simplified question, assume brown hair is dominant to red.
I want this to be helpful to you as you study but I don't want people to memorize an answer. Consequently, the essay you see on the test will be related to these but not identical.
