Pronunciation worksheet - complete one of these per hour that you practice at home.

Record yourself talking for 2 minutes. We will keep it  and use the recording to see how much your pronunciation improves this quarter.

Go to the Language Center and work with Ellis - minimal pairs.

Every week you will do one presentation to the class. We will talk about topics in class this week. Practice expanding your lung capacity -

4 Ellis overview Your problem areas - bring your homework assignments so I can address the difficult parts. The Man with Two Wives - pg 44 of your text. Listen to these 2 different readings on my Quia Vocabulary page:

Male voice and Female voice

5 Working with intonation stress in sentences / words   Interpret the charts from pages 47-49 in your text, and come prepared to communicate that in class on Monday.
6 Continue with intonation, stress in words /sentences focus on pronunciation of ends of words Bring your tape recorded sentence to class on Wednesday
7 Feb 18th - President's Day - no classes Check difficulties with the text material Intonation in sentences - practice the sentence I emailed to you.
8 Intonation /stress in words or sentences Check difficulties with the text material Bring a recording of the most difficult sounds you worked on this week.
9 Pausing, Linking Check with difficulties with the text - chapters8,9,10 Bring a recording of two sentences/paragraphs: 1.  something difficult from one of these chapters    

2.  something easy from one of these chapters.

10 March 17th - last day of classes Meet with me to discuss progress in the class. Bring a recording of the same topic as you recorded during the first week. We will see if there is a difference! No new homework this week. Make sure that you can show me the material you studied this quarter.
  Final for this course is scheduled for Wed, March 19, at 12:10.    Make sure that you can show me the material you studied this quarter. Study hard!
