Portfolio Instructions and Grading Criteria

1.           You will need a binder with index dividers.

2.           Put your name, your class, and the quarter on the cover of your binder

3.           Put the Quarter at a Glance sheets in the first section

4.           Put your essays and second and final drafts in order. The first of the quarter should be first, and so on.  FINAL DRAFTS NEED TO BE FREE OF GRAMMATICAL ERRORS!

5.           Keep articles and other materials used to complete your work in the third section. 

6.           The fourth section may be used or class notes.

 

Grading of your Portfolio and Class Performance

1.      To get an A in the class you must:

Have your portfolio looking neat and well organized, with all of the required materials included.

Have all of your in class writing assignments.

Have all of your final drafts error free.

Turn in your final research paper by the due date.

 

2.      To get a B in the class you must:

Have your portfolio looking neat and well organized, with all of the required materials included.

Have all of your in class writing assignments.

Have your final drafts included, but with few grammatical errors.

Have your final research paper included.

 

3.      To get a C in the class you must:

Have your portfolio looking neat and well organized.

Have all but one in class essay and revision missing.

Have final drafts included, but with some grammatical errors.

Have your final research paper included.

 

Important Information: The research paper is the final for this class.  You will not be able to pass the course with a 2.0 gpa without it! Since a grade of C- is below 2.0, it will create problems with Financial Aid!
