TEXT and SUPPLIES: Understanding and Using English Grammar, by Betty S. Azar;  The Bedford Handbook for Writers, by Diana Hacker is an optional text.  

 A disk, or a thumb drive to save your work in.    

RESOURCES: An English-English dictionary such as the American Heritage Dictionary; A thesaurus you can use easily; (available at the Clark College bookstore); Internet sources for exercises and reading materials-- see your lab assistant or your instructor.  

Grading: Will be based on a midterm, a final, several other chapter tests. This is the usual breakdown of grades, per level.

Week 4    Tuesday:  Chapters 12, 13 – Sentence Structure and Adjective Clauses ( Notice to My Students: I am cancelling our grammar - chapters 6 - 8 test today.  Come to class only if it is safe for you to do so! Drive Safely, if you must drive at all in this weather.)

            Thursday:  Chapter 12 ,13 and retest (10 points)  – Sentence Structure - Noun and Adjective Clauses  (don't forget to bring your "reported speech" homework assignment to class!

Final: I was able to find a room for us to use on Monday, from 10 - 12. Chapters 19 and 20 especially, but review all chapters dealing with clauses.   (25 points)
