A Dictionary of American English – English - English only, please! A binder to organize class notes and assignments ( your portfolio) and a floppy disc or thumb drive for assignments. Office Hours: M/W/F, from 10:00- 10:30 AM, and on T/Th, from 3:30- 4:15 in BHL 101. Other times by appointment.

  1. Descriptions

  2. Using your senses, adjectives and adverbs for great descriptions - Using words wisely – what is their connotation?

  3. Read pages 62- 77

First Draft of Description: Describe one aspect of your culture that happens because the weather allows. For example: think of rainy seasons, dry times of the year, cold, etc...

  1. Peer review of draft one of your descriptive paragraph or essay.
  2. Comparisons: Making your sentences strong, clear and easy to follow.
