Below is general information on the course. For some tips on how to make this day-long course more comfortable and successful, see the Course Tips link above. Clark College Catalog course description: Introduction to adult, child and infant CPR skills that will prepare the student to recognize emergencies, make appropriate decisions, and provide emergency care. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive Adult, Child and Infant CPR certification. Further information Lee would like you to know: This course is taught through the American Red Cross curriculum. It is taught at Clark College as a one-day, full day course. It is a general look at Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) at three different levels: Adult (ages 8 & above), Child (ages 1-8 years), and Infant (less than 1 year). Because it is only a general look at certain emergencies, the certification is good for only 1-year. This is due to the fact that most people do not use this skill and need to review it on a yearly basis in order to keep the skill current. Not only is the CPR skill practiced, but other skills such as rescue breathing, choking emergencies, and recognizing emergencies are also practiced. This is a certification everyone should have and renew every year...especially if you have children in the household. |
