MAPLE Tutorials

Here's a short video at MAPLE in windows media player. I'll post an adobe flash version in the future for those on macs.

MAPLE is a powerful Computer Algebra System (CAS) that can solve equations, plot functions, and so on. Some of these tasks can be done by your graphical calculator but MAPLE is much fater, more powerful and broad-ranging. Also, unlike your calculator, you can save your MAPLE document (or worksheet, as it's called) for future use.

Below are a couple of MAPLE worksheets that you can use as tutorials to get you up and running.

Read the instructions first.

Note: I'm in the process of migrating these tutorials to MAPLE 10. They all work in MAPLE 10, but not all will work in 9.5 (since MAPLE 9.5 documents work ok in MAPLE 10, but not vice versa). Read this for more details on compatibility issues with MAPLE 9.5.

It's recommended that you use MAPLE 10 rather than 9.5, to minimize compatibility issues. If you have 9.5, you have the same functionality, but will often have to type in tutorials by hand rather than load them automatically.
