Administrative Procedures

When submitting assignments for BTEC 211, turn each assignment in separately. If created in Word or Excel, put Your Name and Page Number in the right-hand side of the footer. Type the assignments title (i.e., Discussion Items, Project X.X, etc.) centered on the first line of the document, spreadsheet, etc. (If created in another program, make sure similar identifying information is included.)

Complete the editing to the Employee Policies Manual as directed in the note at the top of this file. Be creative.

5.   Complete the following and write a memo to Ms. Portosky with your findings:

 

a.       Using the Internet, research the quickest way to renew her passport. What is the least expensive way to expedite this process?

a.       How would this process differ if Ms. Portosky did not already have a passport?

 

6.   Complete your role in the first meeting on Thursday, May 7, and prepare for your role in Meeting 2 next Thursday, May 14 (see notes below).

Meeting 1.  The primary purpose of Meeting 1 on Thursday, May 7, will be to discuss how to make our meetings more effective.  The agenda may have other items on it that the Chairperson thinks would be discussed at a weekly meeting, but the only item that will most likely be presented and discussed at length will be the company’s proposed new policy to improve the effectiveness of meetings.  Agendas (prepared by the chairperson) should be distributed to all team members by Monday, May 4.  This will be an online (NetMeeting) meeting, and the presenter should “bring” to the meeting any materials that are needed to support her presentation (URLs to appropriate Web sites to share with the group, files to share, and/or send to other members, etc.). The secretary will prepare minutes after the meeting to distribute to the group. The timekeeper will make sure everything on the agenda is accomplished in a timely manner.

 

Meeting 2--Thursday, May 14.  The primary purpose of Meeting 2 will be to discuss a travel policy for the company.  The agenda may have other items on it that the Chairperson thinks would be discussed at a weekly meeting, but the only item that will most likely be presented and discussed will be the company’s new travel policy.  Agendas should be distributed to all team members by Monday, May 11. The presenter should bring to the meeting any materials that are needed to support his/her presentation (enough copies for each team member).
