Assignments for Week 6
Continue working on Travel Assignments from Week 5.
Turn in Supplemental Question #3 (Only IF you've received at least Question #1 back with comments).
Chapter 16: Above & Beyond (pages 317-318)
The file for this assignment can be found in the BTEC 211 student files; copy your letterhead information (as much as possible) into the header area of the spreadsheet and complete this assignment
Notes: When you copy the formula down from E7, do NOT copy the formatting
...I did step d for you already.
Chapter 7: Communicate Clearly #8 (page 124)
Using your own letterhead write a persuasive letter as directed (except skip the last two sentences); use this letter for the mail merge assignment listed below. You will be signing the letter, but use your mother's initials as the typists initials in the letter. Center the letter vertically on the page, but use standard formatting for the rest of the letter.
Chapter 7: Use Technology #11 (pages 124-125)
Instead of keying the names and addresses into Excel, we will be creating a contact in Outlook for each of these people and using Outlook contacts to create our mail merge. Once the mail merge is completed, print three things: (1) the letter showing the fields, (2) the letter showing one of your contacts, and (3) the list of contacts from Outlook.
Quiz 3 (over Chapters 10, 13, and 16): in class on Thursday.
Prepare for your role in the second meeting:
Meeting 2--Tuesday, May 19. The primary purpose of Meeting 2 will be to discuss a travel policy for the company. The agenda may have other items on it that the Chairperson thinks would be discussed at a weekly meeting, but the only item that will most likely be presented and discussed will be the company’s new travel policy. Agendas should be distributed to all team members by Tuesday, May 12. The presenter should bring to the meeting any materials that are needed to support his/her presentation (enough copies for each team member).
