Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society for two-year colleges.  Today Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education with more than 1.5 million members and 1,200 chapters located in all 50 of the United States, U.S. territories, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Germany, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, and Palau.

Annually, approximately 100,000 students are inducted into Phi Theta Kappa. The innovative programs and services and array of membership benefits offered by Phi Theta Kappa are unequaled among honor societies. Co-curricular programs focus upon the Society's Hallmark of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship. It is estimated that 200,000 students participate in Phi Theta Kappa programs each year.  For more information, please visit to www.ptk.org.

Alpha Sigma Phi is the Clark College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.  To be eligible for membership a student must complete a minimum of 18 college-level credits with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.  To maintain their Phi Theta Kappa membership, Clark College students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above.

Students may apply for membership all throughout the academic year.  Membership applications will be verified and submitted December 1, 2008; March 1, 2009; and May 1, 2009.  Students need to complete a Phi Theta Kappa application and write a check in the amount of $50 to Clark College for membership dues.  This check should be given to the Cashier's Office.   They will give you a receipt.  Please attach that receipt to your completed application and a copy of an unofficial transcript.  Deliver those three items to Deena Bisig in Hanna Hall 113.  Feel free to contact me for more information.   Should you find it difficult to pay the membership dues, you may apply for a scholarship to cover your dues.  Please click this link for more information.
