The freight transportation industry is in desperate need of workers.
In the most trade dependent state of Washington, railroad, trucking, maritime
shipping, and airfreight companies are scrambling to keep up.
In response, ACTT is working with each sector of the transportation industry
to develop customized training and continuing education, as well as certificate
and degree programs. These programs will enhance skills and create opportunities
for workers to advance their careers while meeting industry workforce
demands.
The ACTT is facilitating a Transportation Skills Panel that is comprised
of various transportation industry and business leaders and workforce
development organizations. The Transportation Skills Panel is studying
the trucking, railroad, maritime shipping, airfreight, warehousing/distribution,
and logistics sectors to identify industry and sector priorities and create
strategies to meet goals and address workforce issues.
